Winter Seed Sow Workshop at Verrill Farm (POSTPONED to 1/14)

Sunday, January 71:00—4:00 PMOther

***Note: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. The snow date for registrants will be Sunday 1/14.***

Save the date for our second annual Winter Seed Sow Workshop hosted by Verrill Farm (11 Wheeler Road, Concord) and register for your spot! In this free workshop, led by Isabel Bailey of the Concord Pollinator Health Committee, we will learn how to sow seeds into milk jugs for easy, outdoor, over-wintering germination of native pollinator-supporting plants. To accommodate more people, demonstrations will be given at 1 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM. After attending a demonstration, participants will prepare the growing containers and plant seeds. Plan to browse our resource table and learn about plans for a local Pollinator Pathway, too!

What to bring:

  • Clean, translucent, and empty milk gallon jugs if you have them. Remove the cap. (Additional jugs will be provided.)
  • Gardening gloves (if desired)
  • Scissors. (The workshop will provide some to share.)
  • Duct Tape (we will have rolls circulating, too.)
  • Cardboard box, tray, or other container to take home jugs (We have some to share.)
  • Description of area where you'll transplant your seedlings (shade, sun, partial sun/shade)
