The William Munroe Special Collections presents a selection of art celebrating Concord's natural and built environment. Drawn from Special Collections' extensive art collection, the exhibition focuses on places in Concord, reflecting changing seasons and landscapes as well as historic homes and events. The pieces selected include several local artists, including Alicia Keyes, Stacy Tolman, Mary Wheeler, and Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts. A wide variety of mediums are represented as well, with watercolors, sketches, oils, and lithographs. A pair of maps is also on display: the 1852 Walling Map of Concord and a map of central Concord from 1820. The largest portion of the display is dedicated to the rivers of Concord, with each of the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord Rivers represented, highlighting their importance in the ecosystem of Concord. Concord's deep agricultural tradition is also given a special place in the exhibition.

We invite you to step through Concord, reflecting on the living landscape shaped by community, memory, and the rhythms of nature.
