The 2026 Writer-in-Residence, Danielle Bradley, will be in the Commons each Thursday from 11:30 - 12:30 and invites the public to join her for friendly conversation. Bring questions and thoughts about writing, books, or whatever else is on your mind. No registration required!

From the press release announcing Danielle's appointment:

CONCORD, MA - The Concord Free Public Library and the Trustees of the Concord Free Public Library Corporation are delighted to announce that Danielle Bradley has been selected as the Library’s 2026 Writer-in-Residence, continuing Concord’s tradition of fostering creativity, imagination, and community connection through literature. Danielle Bradley is the winner of the 2025 Simon & Schuster Books Like Us First Novel Contest and the 2025/2026 Elizabeth Alexander Creative Writing Award. Her work appears or is forthcoming in journals, including Salt Hill Journal, Indiana Review, and Colorado Review. Her creative work has been supported with scholarships and residencies from the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the Juniper Summer Writing Institute, the Hudson Valley Writers Center, and Smith College. Bradley is the second daughter of a Puerto Rican landscaper and a domestic worker and received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and MFA for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

The Library is a proud partner of the annual Writer-in-Residence program, an initiative of the Concord Free Public Library Corporation. This year’s residency was made possible by the generous support of Barefoot Books.
