From Sap to Syrup: How to Tap Maple Trees, all ages

Wednesday, March 131:30—2:30 PMFront LawnMain Library129 Main Street, Concord, MA, 01742

This event was rescheduled due to inclement weather on the original date in February. We hope you can make it at this new date/time!

Come learn about tapping maple trees! Avery Indermaur, the Volunteer and Outreach Manager from Gaining Ground Farm will join us on the front lawn and give us a hands on lesson in what's involved in tapping our trees. Learn about how tree sap is transformed into sweet maple syrup!

Gaining Ground farmers tap over 100 maple trees on private and public land in Concord and every year, they donate the fruits of their labor to people experiencing food insecurity. Last year, they collected about 1,400 gallons of sap to make 35 gallons of syrup!

A limited number of chairs and open space will be available, but bring a lawn chair for guaranteed seating and comfort.
