Joel F. Johnson, a long-time Concord resident, is the author of Never, a coming-of-age novel set in the segregated South. Kirkus Reviews calls the book "an observant and immersive work about a society in flux." Joel will read from the novel and invite the group to join him in a discussion of the sensitive issues raised when writing about race.
