Netflix's hit horror/fantasy series Stranger Things owes a lot to the creators that came before it. From 80’s horror films to classic horror fiction, this presentation examines what inspired the chills in Stranger Things and influenced our favorite, frightening demogorgons and xenomorphs. Fans of horror, scifi, and 80's nostalgia won't want to miss! Folks ages 15 and up are welcome to attend. Presented by GeekGal.

Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe aka GeekGal has been touring and lecturing on nerd topics since 2005. In her day job she is head of Teen Services for the Springfield City Library in Springfield, MA.
